Acton Homeless Concern is a charity helping the homeless and those affected by Covid-19 in London

As you know the Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost everyone across the world. We have changed the way we go about everyday life and many of us have re-evaluated our priorities. Whilst people may consider the impact in terms of their own new normal, the work of charities and those they support can be forgotten. 

Acton Homeless Concern – who Creatio have been supporting for a number of years now – were unable to hold their annual charity golf day and dinner to raise money for the homeless community, and unfortunately during the height of the pandemic many homeless people were less prepared or able to follow government advice on how to reduce risk and exposure to the virus. 

Therefore, Creatio along with many other supporters are determined to ensure that the charity meets its target even though the event was cancelled, and would like to take this opportunity to raise attention to the incredible work the dedicated team does by sharing their story with those who follow-us, and providing a way for you to get in touch with them to find out how you may also help.

Acton Homeless Concern is a local charity based in Acton, London. It was established 30 years ago by the Priests of the Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Acton. Over the years the charity has evolved to provide much more than its original vision, and their aim now is to provide clients with the following services to the community:

• 2 free drop in day centres
• Hot meals to the community
• Clothing distribution
• Access to health services such as doctors, dentists, opticians and chiropodists
• Hygiene facilities such as showers and haircuts for the homeless
• Women and children groups
• Emergency hostel accommodation
• Counselling, advocacy and support
• Packed lunches for families with children
• Essential skills training through partners that have access to the charities facilities
