What role do you have at Creatio?
My role at Creatio is to help craft the best possible user experience for our clients. Whether that be designing new user experiences, or improving existing ones. It's unusual for product designers to know how to code - or to even want to code - but I think it's incredibly important for product designers to learn how to code, especially in the UI/UX field, because we're working at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction, so naturally it makes sense that we should understand not just how things look, but how things work. In other words, my role is a bit of a blend between designer/developer... I don't just design things, I build them too.
Favourite part of your job?
Four day work week, fully-remote. What's not there to love about that? I also think it's really cool to get the chance to work in a company that operates within the educational sector... it feels like we're actually helping people. And I love the team - everyone is absolutely lovely, and genuine. Couldn't ask for more really.
Tell us more about your background…
was born in Guildford, Surrey. But I grew up in Portsmouth! Before studying a BSc in Product Design, I was a BA Politics student at King's College London. I also worked as a Parliamentary Assistant for an MP. I dropped out after three months to move to LA to write a score for a movie, but the movie fell through in less than a week, and I was suddenly back in London without a job, and without a degree. Before going back to study, I decided to work in all different types of areas to get an idea of what I really wanted to do, which was to make things people want.
What energises you at work?
More than anything, it's the idea that what I'm working on at any given time is something that a) people will use, and b) solves a problem.
Interests outside of work?
I really enjoy traveling, riding motorbikes, playing video games, and running (completed my first half-marathon in 2024, and hope to run a full marathon in 2026).
Tell us something interesting…
I have a huge passion for startups, and startup culture. I co-founded my first startup when I was 16, and I haven't really stopped since.
As you know, Alan (Founder & Managing Director) loves Star Wars but how do you feel about the franchise?
Personally, nothing beats Episode 3: The Revenge of the Sith. Episodes 2-6 are all iconic, but I think Disney has ruined the franchise (don't shoot the messenger!).
And Spurs?…Alan and therefore Creatio are supporters…are you a fan?
I'm all about Pompey FC, sorry!!!
Lastly, your current go-to podcasts / movies / TV shows / books / albums etc?
I'm really enjoying Traitors, and Bridgerton at the moment...
